Rare Calendar Printed in Budapest during the Holocaust. 1943

Calendar for 1943-4 published by the Ahavat Re'im Society [1943]. Hebrew and Hungarian. Pocket format.

The calendar includes a siddur for Minchah and Aravit, advertisements and a lot of information about the Budapest community. At the front of the calendar (from left to right), there is an illustrated title page depicting hands shaking with a blessing for a good year, and a star of David.

This calendar was printed in Budapest, capital of Hungary, during the Holocaust, several months before the Nazi invasion and the murder of hundreds of thousands of Hungarian Jews.
