Very Beautiful Letter Loaded with Blessings and Signed by Three Leading Disciples of the Chatam Sofer

Especially beautiful letter with blessings in colorful calligraphic script, in the style of and inspired by the emissaries' letters from Jerusalem common at the time. Sent to a major Torah supporter - Rabbi Moshe Naftali Prague (who contributed several buildings to the yeshivah). The letter consists of huge blessings signed by three leading disciples of the Chatam Sofer. Jerusalem, 1869.

This magnificent letter was sent in honor of the inauguration of the Drush Tziyon institutions - Talmud Torah, Beit Midrash and school (there was almost no Sephardic rabbi in Jerusalem who did not receive his education at this school). Leading disciples of the Chatam Sofer who signed on this letter bless the donor with all goodness, and along the length of the letter, they describe to him the importance of the institution and its necessity.

The letter was sent to the lofty benefactor "HaTorani HaMufla one of the founders of the Doresh Tziyon study hall, Rabbi Moshe Naftali Prague, along with his dear wife, Hindel." It is signed by three leading disciples of the Chatam Sofer, the sacred geonim Rabbi Yitzchak Opletkah of Prague, Rabbi Yonah Leib Mendelsohn and Rabbi Aharon Moshe Baumgarten.

Refer to the Hebrew catalog text for brief biographies of Rabbi Yitzchak Opletkah, Rabbi Aharon Moshe Baumgarten and Rabbi Yonah Leib Mendelsohn-Label.
