First Haggadah Printed in India: Haggadah shel Pesach. Calcutta, 1841. Rare
Haggadah shel Pesach K'Minhag Bnei Baghdad B'Hodu, with Pesach Meubin by Rabbi Chaim Benveniste, and with a Judeo-Arabic translation by the printer, Rabbi Elazar HaKohen Eraki. Calcutta, Elazar ben Aharon Sa'adiah Eraki HaKohen, 1841. Especially rare haggadah.
With an Arabic translation in Hebrew letters. Interesting printer's introduction by HaDofes [ 'הדופס' (-המדפיס)]. Page 11b bears a picture of the Pesach plate arranged Kabbalistically per the Etz Chayim by Rabbi Chaim Vital. Hymn on leaf 32: "Emunim archu shevach l'e-l v'tavchu tevach." The words shfoch aleihem za'amcha in "shfoch chamatcha" are omitted.

Fine condition. Characteristic wine stains. Several light tears in the margins. Magnificent new binding.
