Historic-Chassidic Letter about the Admo”r of Spinka, Handwritten by Rabbi Yosef Elimelech Kahane, Av Beit Din of Ungvar - Important and beautiful historic-Chassidic letter, entirely handwritten and signed by the sacred gaon Rabbi Yosef Elimelech Kahane, av beit din  of Ungvar and the surrounding region - one of the leading rashei yeshivahs  and renowned rabbis of Hungary. Uzhhorod [Ungvar], 1932. The letter discusses the young scholar ”The precious, sharp and expert, reverent and magnificent Chassid, scion of great and righteous roots ... Rabbi Yosef Meir Kahane ... son-in-law of the righteous gaon of Husakov, ” eventually the Admo”r of Spinka and founder of the Spinka-Kahane dynasty in the Holy Land. In this important letter, the Ungvarer Rebbe presents the young gaon, Rabbi Yosef Meir Kahane, a resident of his city, Ungvar, whose name is as of yet unknown, to the surrounding communities. This is apparently for the purpose of his appointment as a rabbi and leader. The sacred gaon Rabbi Yosef Meir was, at the time this letter was written, just a young  avreich , only 22 years old, yet he was already counted among the most prominent talmidei chachamim  in Hungary. Rabbi Yosef Meir was indeed appointed at the time as rabbi of nearby Bereznek, and he later returned to Ungvar where he opened a yeshivah.
