Rare Find: ”Shtar Kiyum Shevuah” Handwritten by the Light of the Diaspora, Rabbi Yechezkel Katzenelfogen, Av Beit Din of Ah”u - Rare and beautiful document signed in full by the light of the Diaspora, the gaon Rabbi Yechezkel Katzenelfogen, av beit din of the Ah”u communities [Altona, Hamburg and Wandsbek; the lofty position in Ashkenaz in which leaders of the nation served, such as the Chacham Tzvi, Rabbi Yehonatan Eybeschütz and the Sha'agat Aryeh]. Altona, 1734. Due to the rarity of this document and the prominence of its writer, it is transcribed in the Hebrew catalog text word for word: ”The undersigned appeared before us ... Leib, son of the late Rabbi Moshe Metz, a shevuah  stating that he has no value other than 1200 R”T; he has not one perutah  more than this. His value here is therefore 1200 R”T.
