Sefer Haftarot for the Entire Year – Complete Manuscript with a Colophon and Calligraphic Signature – Sana'a [Yemen], 19th Century - A complete manuscript of Sefer Haftarot written in a neat and uniform script on thick paper. At the end, there is a colophon with a lengthy inscription by the scribe, who notes that the manuscript was written with great sanctity: ”And you, my dear reader, may the Lord protect and sustain you. When you read from this Haftarah, bless me for its merit, and God will bless you through me, for it is precise without error in its translation, reading, cantillation, and vocalization. It was written with great sanctity, on important paper with minimal gall ink, and was checked numerous times...” The scribe further describes his tribulations and the burdens of exile, concluding with his calligraphic signature: ”The humble writer, the lightest of the light, hoping for the grace of God, the young Aharon ben our teacher Sa'id Dar'ur, may he be protected.” He was one of the scholars of Sana'a in the 19th century (Encyclopedia of Yemenite Sages, Vol. 1, p. 96).
