”For Myself, With G-d's Help” – The Author's Personal Copy of 'Liflagot Reuven', with Annotations - A personal copy of the scholarly work *Liflagot Reuven*, a dialectical and analytical composition on the Talmud, connecting each tractate to its beginning or to its neighboring tractate, authored by Rabbi Zelig Reuven Bengis. Printed in Jerusalem, 1947 (*Tashaz*). This copy belonged to the author himself, with handwritten annotations and additions in his own handwriting. On the front endpaper, Rabbi Bengis inscribed: ”For myself, with G-d's help, ” indicating that this was his personal copy. Within the book are several annotations and additions handwritten by the author. On the endpapers at the back of the book, Rabbi Bengis wrote his own novellae spanning two and a half large pages. One section is dated to the year 1949 (*Tashat*). Rabbi Zelig Reuven Bengis (1864–1953): Born in Lithuania, Rabbi Bengis began studying at the prestigious Volozhin Yeshiva at the age of 17, where he learned under the guidance of Rabbi Naftali Tzvi Yehuda Berlin (*Netziv*), who referred to him as a ”living Shas, ” and Rabbi Chaim Soloveitchik. Renowned for his extraordinary genius, he served as the *Av Beit Din* of Bodki and later as the rabbi of Kalvarija. In 1938, he immigrated to Jerusalem to serve as the *Av Beit Din* of the *Eidah HaChareidis*. In 1949, he was appointed as the Chief Rabbi (*Gaavad*) of the *Eidah HaChareidis*, a position he held until his passing in 1953. 164 pages, approximately 30 cm. Condition: Good to very good. Minor tears on a few pages, without loss of text.
