The Book of Psalms of the Righteous Rebbetzin of Stropkov - A vowelized Tehillim (Book of Psalms) printed in large letters. Jerusalem, 1991 (תשנ”א). Artistic binding with an embossed dedication: ”In honor of the righteous Rebbetzin of Stropkov, may she live long, Shavuot 1995 (תשנ”ה).” On the front endpaper, an inscription by the grandson of the Admor states that this Tehillim belonged to his grandmother, the righteous Rebbetzin of Stropkov. 315 pages. 20X23 cm. Condition: Good. Time stains. The pages appear wavy, likely due to moisture exposure. Original leather binding. Rabbi Yechezkel Shraga Lipshitz-Halberstam, the Admor of Stropkov (1908–1994) The grandson and disciple of the Admor Rabbi Shalom Halberstam of Stropkov, he served as the Av Beit Din of Jablonka and a dayan in Bergsas. During the Holocaust, his wife and six children were murdered. He was deported to Auschwitz, where he kept mitzvot with great self-sacrifice, offering spiritual encouragement to fellow prisoners, including his relative, the Admor of Sanz-Klausenburg. After the war, he served as Chief Rabbi of the Displaced Persons Camps in Bamberg and Franconia. On 20 Shevat 5706 (1946), he remarried Rebbetzin Taba, daughter of Rabbi Yechiel Michel Schlager, Av Beit Din of Bokachivtsi and author of P'ninei Yam on Heter Agunot (Budapest, ca. 1948?). He later settled in Vienna. On 29 Kislev 5709 (1948), he immigrated to Eretz Yisrael, settling first in Be'er Yaakov, then in Ramla, where he founded the Beit Midrash ”Divrei Chaim” and a mikveh and worked to strengthen Jewish life in the city. In 1953, he moved to Jerusalem, living in Geula, and established the Stropkov Beit Midrash in Meah Shearim. Later, he founded another Beit Midrash in Bnei Brak. Upon the passing of his uncle, the Admor Rabbi Menachem Mendel, in 1954, he was appointed Admor of Stropkov, establishing the Stropkov Chassidus in Eretz Yisrael. He also founded a yeshiva in Jerusalem, which he led. A prominent halachic authority, he specialized in Eruvin and Mikvaot. The Satmar Rebbe, Rabbi Yoel Teitelbaum, appointed him as his personal overseer of mikvaot in Eretz Yisrael. Despite being Ashkenazi, in 1976, he was appointed a member of the Sephardic Edah HaChareidis and later became the head of its Beit Din for conversions. He was also a leading figure in Jerusalem’s modesty patrols. In 1990, he founded the Beit Din ”Kahal HaYireim”, specializing in monetary laws. He authored numerous halachic works, published under the title ”Divrei Yechezkel Shraga”. He passed away on 6 Kislev 5755 (1994). The Righteous Rebbetzin Taba (Schlager) of Stropkov Daughter of Rabbi Yechiel Michel Schlager, Av Beit Din of Bokachivtsi, and author of P'ninei Yam on Heter Agunot (Budapest, ca. 1948?). She married the Admor in 1946, remaining at his side until his passing in 1994. She passed away on 25 Iyar 5767 (2007).
