Rabbi Yehuda Yitzchak Berman (1904–1965) served as rabbi in Klintsy, later becoming a rabbi in Tel Aviv and Rosh Yeshiva at Yeshivat Heichal HaTalmud in Tel Aviv. His son was Rabbi Shlomo Berman, Rosh Yeshiva of Ponevezh Yeshiva. Alongside his greatness in Talmudic scholarship, Rabbi Yitzchak Berman was deeply knowledgeable in Kabbalah. His glosses and novellae on Etz Chaim by Rabbi Chaim Vital were published, and he corresponded in Kabbalistic matters with the Chazon Ish. His father-in-law, Rabbi Yaakov Yisrael Kanievsky (the Steipler), wrote about him: ”He was a hidden treasure, filled with the blessing of Torah and fear of Heaven, exceedingly modest and concealed. He engaged privately in the study of Kabbalah and had a fixed study session in Kabbalah with Rabbi Eliyahu Eliezer Dessler.” Condition: Good. Some loose leaves.
