The publication of Rabbi Auerbach's edition of Sefer HaEshkol was met with controversy, with various objections and claims raised, leading to articles and works written both in support and against it. While some argued that additions were made to the text over the generations, others maintained that such additions were incorporated at a very early period—during the era of the Rishonim.
