The holy gaon and tzaddik Rabbi Chaim Tzvi Teitelbaum of Sighet, author of Atzei Chaim [1880-1926], was one of the greatest tzaddikim of his generation. Born in 5640 [1880]—notably the Hebrew year ”Yifrach Tzaddik”—he was the son of the holy Admor, author of Kedushat Yom Tov, who was the son of the holy Admor, author of Yitav Lev, from one of the most esteemed Chassidic dynasties in Hungary. Upon reaching marriageable age, he married the daughter of the holy Rabbi Shalom Eliezer Halberstam of Ratzfert, son of the Divrei Chaim of Sanz. He was a devoted disciple of the great tzaddikim of his time, including his holy father, the Admorim of Shinova, Gorlitz, and Rabbi Yissachar Dov of Belz. Tzaddikim expressed awe at his holiness and his immense greatness in Torah and divine service. Thousands flocked to bask in the light of his sanctity, Torah, and prayers. He was a towering Torah scholar, of whom it was said that he never forgot a single thing he had learned. One of the greatest Admorim of his generation and a leader of Hungarian Jewry, he established hundreds of disciples, and masses sought his guidance. [2], 127; [1], 50 leaves. Approx. 24 cm.
