Ma'agalei Tzedek on the Torah, by the Admor Rabbi Menachem Mendel Panet, Av Beit Din of Dezh. Mukachevo, 1884. Two Parts. First Edition. Printed During the Author’s Lifetime. - This work was authored by Rabbi Menachem Mendel Panet, son of Rabbi Yechezkel Panet, author of Mareh Yechezkel. He was one of the close disciples of the Chasam Sofer, who greatly praised him and referred to him as ”Der Zeidener Bachur” (The Silk-Clad Youth). The Chasam Sofer would take walks with him on Friday afternoons, an exceptional honor, and he was the only student in the Pressburg Yeshiva who wore Chassidic attire. Rabbi Menachem Mendel Panet was present at the famous incident of Eliyahu HaNavi's revelation in the Chasam Sofer's study. Following his marriage, he became close to the Yismach Moshe. He later served as the Rabbi of Dezh and, from 1858, as an Admor. Due to his influence, many communities in Hungary adopted Nusach Sefard, and the city of Dezh became a stronghold of Chassidus. For decades, he was a leading figure of Orthodox Jewry in Transylvania and one of the greatest Admorim of his time. He authored the works Ma'agalei Tzedek, Sha'arei Tzedek, Mishpat Tzedek, and Avnei Tzedek. Part I: 122 leaves. Part II: [1], 125 leaves. 23 cm. Condition: Very good.
