Entirely handwritten and signed by the Admor Rabbi Avraham Yitzchak Kahn, founder of the Toldos Aharon Chassidut and son-in-law and successor of the holy Gaon Rabbi Aharon Rote, author of Shomer Emunim. A precious and important letter of spiritual instruction from the holy Rebbe of Toldos Aharon, filled with advice, blessings, segulot, and words of mussar and Chassidut, addressed to a disciple residing abroad, who seeks to guard himself from the temptations of the nations and to cleave to the Tree of Life — his holy Rebbe, dwelling in Jerusalem. The Rebbe of Toldos Aharon was not like other Admorim who primarily conducted tishen and accepted kvitlach. He was also a spiritual educator who struck at the core of his chassidim, commanding them: “Grow!” In this letter, he guides his follower step by step through the path of life: “When one sees... how immersed they are in worldly vanities, from this one can take moral guidance not to follow after them.” “Do not be impressed by their vanities and falsehoods, for even with a small measure of understanding, one sees that all is vanity.” “Be very careful not to waste precious time... and surely... you will merit Divine assistance.” “There is nothing in the world other than serving the King of kings, the Holy One, blessed be He.” Like a compassionate father, the Rebbe pleads with his chassid to continue sending him letters about his spiritual state abroad: “And it is a wonder that I have received only one letter — and didn’t I tell you not to wait for my reply, but to keep writing always?” The holy Admor Rabbi Avraham Yitzchak Kahn [1914–1997] was one of the foremost Admorim and the founder of the Toldos Aharon Chassidut. He was renowned for his holiness, asceticism, and ruach hakodesh. A disciple of the Satmar Yeshiva under the Admor Rabbi Yoel Teitelbaum, he was drawn into the inner circle of his father-in-law’s holy group, which was entirely devoted to pure avodat Hashem. After the passing of his father-in-law, the renowned Rabbi Aharon Rote (known as “Reb Ahar’le”), most chassidim crowned him as their new Rebbe.
