He served as the Rabbi of Erfoud, Morocco. In his later years, he immigrated to the Land of Israel and settled in the town of Netivot. He became renowned as supremely holy, performing miracles and wonders akin to the ancients. His blessings were never in vain and always fulfilled precisely as spoken. He was accepted by all ethnic groups and sects, both Ashkenazi and Sephardi, and was revered by all.
