Minor tears, without loss. The righteous Gaon Rabbi Yehuda Ze’ev Segal [1911–1993], a brilliant Torah scholar and Rosh Yeshiva of Manchester. Son and successor of the righteous Gaon Rabbi Moshe Yitzchak HaLevi Segal, who established Torah in England. Besides his Torah greatness, in his youth he traveled to learn at the Mir Yeshiva in Lithuania, where he studied in chavrusa with Rabbi Chaim Shmuelevitz, Rosh Yeshiva of Mir. He also visited Radin several times and considered himself a devoted student of the Chafetz Chaim, of blessed memory. Rabbi Yehuda Ze’ev was renowned as a “miracle worker” and was called “the Chafetz Chaim of England” and “the second Chafetz Chaim.” He promised salvations in the merit of strengthening the observance of Shemiras HaLashon (guarding one's speech), and in his words: ”I have never known a family in the world who studied two halachos a day in the Chafetz Chaim and did not witness salvations with their own eyes.” Thousands from around the world came to seek his blessings for healing and salvation, and his blessings never returned empty. Until this day, thousands come to pray at his grave in Manchester, seeking mercy and deliverance.
