On the front flyleaf appears an exalted six-line blessing in the actual handwriting and signature of the wondrous Admor Rabbi Shimon Lemberger of Makova, whom all the greats of the generation refer to as ”Holy, Holy”, as follows: “With the help of the Creator, for ‘This is the thing that the Lord has commanded you to do’, Remember the faithful kindnesses of David, For the sake of David Your servant, do not turn away. May it be His will that the praises and prayers be accepted with mercy and favor. In honor of this great mitzvah. Shimon son of my father zatzal.” Joining the Admor of Makova are the handwritten signatures of the miracle worker and righteous scholar Rabbi Shimon Galai, known for his powerful blessings and prayers, and the Admorim of Vaslui, Botoșani, Kozmir, Timișoara, Spinka, and Komarno—some of the most eminent spiritual heirs in the Hasidic movement, together representing over 500 years (!!) of pure Divine service. Presented here is an “open check”—a document of blessing signed by eight righteous leaders of our generation, including great miracle workers, across various traditions, blessing the one who prays—anyone, without specifying a name—with sacred and rare blessings. Is there a greater segulah (spiritual charm) than this? Has not the Holy One Himself testified: “Said the God of Israel... the righteous rules the fear of God” (II Samuel 23:3)? And the Gemara (Mo’ed Katan 16b) expounds: “Said Rabbi Abbahu, this is what it means: ‘Said the God of Israel... who rules over Me? The righteous!’ For I decree a decree, and the righteous cancels it.” It is not known on what basis the greats of the generation bestowed this exceedingly rare blessing for the acceptance of prayers. Yet before us is a duly signed and legally and halachically binding document, and therefore also segulatic—since, as the Gemara (Berachot 58a) says: “Earthly kingship resembles heavenly kingship.” And as our Sages often declare: “The righteous decrees, and the Holy One fulfills.” It must be emphasized: this is not a one-time blessing, nor for a specific individual, but a perpetual flowing spring that only grows stronger with time—since the great sages have applied their blessing to whomever may pray, whenever they may pray—without limitation. Alongside the great segulah embodied in this Tehillim, it also represents an investment that will surely multiply manyfold as the generations pass. To illustrate: a Tehillim with such a guarantee, bearing the signatures of eight great sages from 150 years ago, would today be priceless—and likely more valuable than any other investment made in those days.
