Perot Ginosar by the Or HaChaim HaKadosh, First Edition Printed During the Author’s Lifetime – Amsterdam, 1742. A Complete and Handsome Copy - Sefer Perot Ginosar – Pri Toar Commentary by the Or HaChaim on the Pri Chadash, First Edition – Complete Copy Including Rare Errata Leaf Perot Ginosar is the Pri Toar commentary by Rabbi Chaim ben Attar – the holy Or HaChaim – on the Pri Chadash by Rabbi Hezekiah de Silva, on Shulchan Aruch, Yoreh De’ah (Simanim 1–122). Printed with the full text of the Shulchan Aruch, this work features the Or HaChaim’s commentary throughout. This is the first edition of this foundational halachic work, published during the lifetime of the author, one of the few select tzaddikim across the generations who merited the eternal designation “HaKadosh” (the Holy) – alongside the Shelah, the Alshich, and the Arizal. The copy presented here is entirely complete, including the rare final leaf with errata, which is absent in most extant copies and not recorded in the Bibliographic Project. At the time of this printing, the famed Chida was studying in the yeshiva of the Or HaChaim in Jerusalem. He described him with deep reverence: “I, though still young, was privileged to be in his exalted yeshiva. My eyes saw the greatness of his Torah – a man who could uproot mountains – and his holiness was truly wondrous… In our generation, the Rabbi’s heart was deeply immersed in the Talmud; he was like a constantly flowing spring… He authored Chefetz Hashem, Rishon LeTzion, Or HaChaim, and Pri Toar – and his wisdom shines from these books, though they represent only a tenth of his intellect and breadth of heart… A spirit of sanctity rested upon him daily, separated from all worldly matters, and his awe-inspiring presence was overwhelming.” (Shem HaGedolim) Stefansky, Sifrei Yesod, no. 171, note. [4], 275, [1] leaves. Very good condition, a fine copy with wide margins. 32.5 cm. Minimal signs of use. Typical brown-toned paper. Bound in old vellum.
