Colophon: “Chamishah Chumshei Torah, carefully edited according to the Masorah and old and new printings... the letters were designed by Marcus Behmer based on the letter forms from the Gerson Cohen Press in Prague. Printing extended from 1930 to 1933 at the Officina Serpentis printing house... in Berlin. Eight hundred and fifty copies were printed on Van Gelder paper, and six copies on parchment.” A masterpiece of the “Soncino Society of Friends of the Jewish Book.” The society was founded in Berlin in 1924 and published meticulously designed typographical works until it was dissolved by Nazi order in 1937.
