On the first page, the author titled the work: “Essay on the Matter of Marriage.” The treatise is divided into chapters: Menstruation, the Commandment, Marriage, Intimacy, the Ignorant, Time, Occasion, Intention. From the content and writing style, it is evident that the author was a towering Torah scholar. He brings proofs from the Talmud, the Rishonim, and early ethical masters. He also cites the views of the philosophers. At the end of the treatise appears an additional short handwritten work, [8] pages, on the subject of cities within the tribal inheritances of Israel.
