Cup for memorial candle lighting in a synagogue. Morocco, [circa 1900] - Memorial candle lighting cup for the elevation of the soul of the deceased, used in the synagogue. The upper part of the cup is inscribed in gold: “Menorat HaMaor for the elevation of the soul of the deceased, may their soul be bound in the bond of life.” The lower part features a gold-colored illustration of four plants. Height: 30 cm. Diameter: 21 cm. Good condition. Minor cracks along the rim of the cup.
