First edition. Missing one prenumeranten leaf (though included in the foliation). Among the great Rebbes and tzaddikim who adorned this holy work with their approbations: Rebbes of Ruzhin: Rabbi Avraham Yaakov of Sadigura, Rabbi David Moshe of Tchortkov, Rabbi Yitzchak of Bohush, and other tzaddikim of the Ruzhin dynasty. Rebbes of Vizhnitz: the Tzemach Tzaddik, the Imrei Baruch, the Ahavat Yisrael and his brother Rabbi Chaim of Atinia, and the holy Rabbi of Kosov. Rebbes of Komarno: Rabbi Eliezer Tzvi Safrin and Rabbi Menachem Manish. Also: the holy Rabbi of Zabolotiv, the Yitav Lev, and Rabbi Avraham Yosef Igra of Zaslin. The Tzemach Tzaddik of Vizhnitz promises in his approbation: ”And the merit of the righteous Gaon, the author, of blessed memory, will protect them that no harm shall befall them, God forbid, and peace shall rest in your dwelling.” And the holy Rabbi Yehuda Tzvi Shteig, Av Beit Din of Skalya, writes in his rare (and perhaps only) approbation: ”It is a great mitzvah that this book be in every Jewish home, for it is a great protection for the house, since he was one of the disciples of the Baal Shem Tov, of blessed memory.” The author, Rabbi Moshe of Dolina, was one of the younger disciples of the Baal Shem Tov. His father, Rabbi Dan, was a close follower of the Baal Shem Tov and was childless. Following the Baal Shem Tov’s blessing that a righteous and holy son would be born to him, Rabbi Moshe Shem was born. He was known as “Rabbi Moshe ben Rabbi Dan” and served as Rav of Dolina.
