Teshuvot HaTashbetz. Amsterdam, 1738–1741. First Edition - By Rabbi Shimon ben Tzemach Duran – the Rashbatz – one of the greatest of the later Rishonim. Born in Spain in 1361, he fled to Algeria following the persecutions of 1391 and passed away there in 1444. There exist several variants of the title pages of this edition. The present copy contains the uncommon variant, in which the first title page is dated 1741, with illustrations differing from the usual version, as recorded in the Bibliographic Project: “The first title page is dated: Zot HaTorah Asher Sam Moshe… [1741], and instead of the two lions appearing in the regular first title page, here are illustrations of Moshe and Aharon, Shlomo and David.” In these copies only this first title page appears, together with the three title pages of Part IV.
