Only and Rare Edition - Yad Charutzim – tables and principles regarding the calculation of tekufot (seasons) and moladot (new moons), by the kabbalist Rabbi Yitzchak Tzahalon. Venice, 1595. Only edition. On the title page: “A circular system repeating regularly in the calculation of tekufot and moladot.” Includes tables of “Months of Edom and Ishmael” and “Months of the Christians.” The author, Rabbi Avraham Tzahalon, sage of Safed and grandson of Rabbi Yitzchak Caro (author of Toldot Yitzchak and uncle of Maran Rabbi Yosef Caro), came into possession of manuscripts of the Ari z”l, which he cites in his renowned work Marpeh LaNefesh. Some even wrote that he was a disciple of the Ari himself. Later he traveled as a shaliach to Baghdad, where he resided in the home of the philanthropist Yitzchak Tova, composing his works in that library. He also authored Yesha Elokim on Megillat Esther.
