Second edition of Derashot HaRan. The National Library catalog records the year as 1596 [Shin-Nun-Vav], based on the chronogram “BaDeshen, ” though this is likely incorrect. Evidence indicates the correct year is 1594, since the Derashot Maharshal printed that year already references this edition of Derashot HaRan. Thus the word “BaDeshen” should be understood without counting the letter bet as part of the calculation. (See: A. Yaari, HaDefus HaIvri BeVenetziya, p. 82, no. 64).
