Yemin Moshe. Mantua, 1624. First and Rare Edition - Yemin Moshe – glosses on the Shulchan Aruch regarding the laws of shechitot, bedikot, and treifot, by Rabbi Yosef Ventura. Mantua, 1624. First and rare edition. Printed together with the text of Shulchan Aruch, Yoreh De’ah, Simanim 1–60. This work was reprinted several times; the present copy is the first edition, printed during the author’s lifetime. The author lived in Nikopol and ascended to Jerusalem in 1591 via Egypt. In Jerusalem he signed a ruling of Rabbi Yosef ibn Lev (the Mahari ibn Lev) and served as a shochet and bodek. A rare book. 68 leaves. 13.5 cm. Moderate–good condition. Aging stains. Minor worming. Some reinforced with paper strips.
