Receipt signed by Rabbi Yosef Dov Soloveitchik, Rosh Yeshiva of Brisk and son of the Brisker Rav. 1963 - Receipt for a donation to Yeshivat Brisk in Jerusalem, signed by Rabbi Yosef Dov Soloveitchik, eldest son and successor of Rabbi Yitzchok Zev Soloveitchik, the Brisker Rav Rabbi Yosef Dov (R’ Yoshe Ber) Halevi Soloveitchik (1916–1981), the eldest son of the Brisker Rav, was among the prominent continuers of the Brisk dynasty in Eretz Yisrael. During the Holocaust period, he immigrated with his father to Jerusalem, where together they established Yeshivat Brisk. In later years, he stood at its head and led it with strict halachic discipline and rigorous scholarship He was regarded as one of the foremost Torah scholars of his generation, and his influence left a lasting mark on the Lithuanian yeshiva world. His son, Rabbi Avraham Yehoshua Soloveitchik, currently serves as Rosh Yeshiva of Brisk Rabbi Yosef Dov maintained a close relationship with the Chazon Ish and would visit him at his home in Bnei Brak for discussions on halachic matters and personal guidance.
