On the flyleaf, the stamp of the Mashgiach. Maran the Mashgiach, Rabbi Yechezkel Levenstein, of blessed memory (1885–1974). A disciple of the Kelm Yeshiva. A righteous and holy man—his followers would proclaim after him: “Sanctified, Sanctified.” Renowned for his exalted level of faith in the Almighty. One of the greatest figures of the Mussar movement in recent generations. He served as Mashgiach in the Mir Yeshiva in Lithuania. During the Holocaust he went into exile with the Mir Yeshiva to Shanghai, where he was a pillar of fire for the students. After the war he immigrated to the Land of Israel and served as Mashgiach in the Ponovezh Yeshiva. His discourses and writings were published in the Or Yechezkel series and other works.
