Decorated with significant approbations, including one from the author of the Pri Megadim, among others. The author, Rabbi Pinchas ben Azriel HaLevi, was a disciple of the Gaon Rabbi Yonatan Eybeschütz and served as a rabbi in several communities across Poland. On the title page: autograph and personal stamp of Rabbi Meir Shapira of Lublin, with handwritten glosses and textual corrections throughout the volume in his hand. The renowned Gaon Rabbi Meir Shapira of Lublin [1887–1933], Chief Rabbi of Lublin and a shining light of Polish Jewry. He married the daughter of Rabbi Yaakov Dovid Breitman and moved to Tarnopol, Galicia, where he learned Torah while his father-in-law supported him. A visionary Torah scholar, Rabbi Shapira founded the world-renowned Yeshivat Chachmei Lublin. He was one of the leading figures of Agudat Yisrael and, at the Knessia Gedolah, introduced his groundbreaking idea of the Daf Yomi – daily Talmud study. At the request of the Rebbe of Gur, he served as a member of the Polish Sejm (parliament). Tragically, he passed away at the young age of 47. Remarkably, shortly before his death, he had taken out a large life insurance policy and bequeathed it to the yeshiva, ensuring its financial survival after his passing. [2], 120 leaves. 32.5 cm.
