“Banei, Chayei U’Mezonei Revicha” – Letter of Blessings from Rabbi David Babad, son of the Minchat Chinuch, to the Rebbe Rabbi Baruch of Vizhnitz – Safed, 1892 - A printed letter containing heartfelt blessings upon the receipt of sacred donations for the support of the Jewish settlement in Eretz Israel. The letter is signed in the actual handwriting of the Gaon Rabbi David Babad of Snyatyn, son of the great Gaon Rabbi Yosef Babad, author of Minchat Chinuch, and nephew of the Rebbe, the Divrei Chaim of Sanz. It was sent to the Rebbe Rabbi Baruch Hager of Vizhnitz, author of Imrei Baruch, president and administrator of Eretz Israel affairs, less than four months before his passing! In the letter, Rabbi David blesses the Rebbe: “May he be blessed by the God of the battlefield with abundant blessing and success, banei, chayei u’mezonei revicha (children, life, and ample sustenance), and may the Almighty favor him to practice righteousness and kindness all his days… And I shall faithfully stand on my watch to mention you for good in all the holy places, so that it may be well with you.” Safed, 1892. Small printed letter with the autograph signature of Rabbi David. Details filled in by a scribe. Good condition. Minor tears at the margins.
