Large and rare broadside – Prayer for success in study and for the welfare of the Emperor, in three languages – Trieste, 1829 - A prayer to be recited before and after study, including a special supplication for the success and wellbeing of the Emperor. Framed within an ornamental border. Trieste, 1829. The broadside was printed for “the young sons of Israel who come each day to study their books, ” and is presented in three languages: Hebrew, German, and Italian. Trieste, located in northeastern Italy and relatively close to the German-speaking regions, was home to a diverse Jewish community, hence the inclusion of the prayer in all three languages. Extremely rare. Large format: 34.5 × 48 cm. Condition: Good; high-quality paper, slight stains.
