Seder Tefillot MiKol HaShanah – According to the Ashkenaz and Poland Rite. Amsterdam, 1823. Miniature Siddur - A rare and elegant miniature siddur, containing the complete order of prayers for the entire year according to the custom of Ashkenaz and Poland. Printed in Amsterdam, 1823, by Yohanan Levi Rofe and his son Binyamin, among the last generation of Jewish printers continuing Amsterdam’s renowned Hebrew printing tradition. The title page reads: “With the chapters, parashiyot, Shir HaYichud, Zemirot, the Counting of the Omer, and Ma’ariv at its time.” This indicates a comprehensive prayer book including weekday, Sabbath, Festival, and High Holiday prayers, together with Shir HaYichud, Sabbath hymns, Sefirat HaOmer, and other occasional prayers—designed for daily and seasonal use throughout the year. The book is printed in exceptionally fine, minute type, typical of early nineteenth-century pocket siddurim produced for travelers or for private devotion. The printing quality, paper, and typography are of the refined Amsterdam style—clear, balanced, and aesthetically pleasing. Such miniature prayer books were considered luxury devotional items, often carried by scholars or pious individuals in a pocket or pouch. This edition, listed in the Bibliographic Project (Ma’agar HaSifrut Ha’Ivrit) from a photographic record of the title page, is one of the finest surviving examples of a compact Ashkenaz–Poland rite siddur from the early nineteenth century.
