He was later appointed rabbi of the Metz community, and halakhic inquiries were sent to him from Jewish communities throughout Europe. The book opens with a lengthy introduction and biographical sketch of the author by Rabbi David Oppenheim, who at that time served as rabbi of Nikolsburg. First Edition. A commentary on Shulchan Aruch, Yoreh De’ah, summarizing the rulings of the Taz, Shach, Nekudat HaKesef, and other leading commentators, by Rabbi Moshe Yekutiel (Kaufman) Katz. Includes Penei HaShulchan Aruch. The author was the son-in-law of Rabbi Avraham Abele Gombiner, author of Magen Avraham.
