Miniature Hebrew Bible – Warsaw, 1895 (תרנ״ה). Extremely rare - An exceptionally tiny edition of the Torah, Prophets, and Writings, in a beautifully produced miniature format, housed in a gilded case shaped like a book. Published by Menahem M. Shaltz, Warsaw, 1895 (תרנ״ה). The printer, Menahem Mendel Shaltz, specialized in publishing small and finely crafted Hebrew Bibles in Warsaw. According to the bibliographic reference Vinograd–Rosenfeld, this is considered the smallest printed Hebrew Bible ever produced. [2], 605 pages. Dimensions: 30 × 20 mm only. Provenance: Sassoon Collection. To accompany this sacred miniature Bible, a unique gilded metal case was crafted in the shape of a book. The front panel opens on hinges, featuring a small round magnifying lens in its center for reading, and a tiny hinged clasp on the side. The back is adorned with a delicate floral design, and the word “Tanakh” is embossed on the spine. At the top of the case is a small suspension ring, allowing it to be worn as a pendant or charm. A perfect work of artistry and devotion — fitting for such a minute and sacred Bible. Condition: Good. Some leaves have become detached from the binding, yet all are in very good condition, well preserved within the original cover. Original green binding, finely decorated and gilt-stamped.
