Likutei Torah, by the Admor HaZaken of Lubavitch. First Edition. Zhitomir, 1848. Complete Set with Wide Margins! - Likutei Torah on the Torah portions, by Rabbi Shneur Zalman of Liadi, author of the Tanya. Printed by Rabbi Chanina Lipa, Aryeh Leib and Yehoshua Heshel Shapira. Zhitomir, [1848]. First edition. Complete set, four volumes. Wide margins. The first edition of Likutei Torah, the major Chassidic work of the Admor HaZaken, one of the foundational texts of Chabad Chassidut. The sections on Bereshit and Shemot were previously printed under the title Torah Or, as a separate work. The present set includes the commentaries on Vayikra, Bamidbar, Devarim and Shir HaShirim, known collectively as Likutei Torah. It is noteworthy that on Shabbat Parashat Vayakhel, 1965, the Lubavitcher Rebbe encouraged the study of the “Chassidic portion” each week – the relevant discourses from Likutei Torah and Torah Or corresponding to the weekly Torah portion – and instructed that those who study it should say L’chaim. In 1992 the Rebbe reiterated this directive, adding that through this study one hastens the true and complete Redemption. Four volumes, 29 cm. Stefansky, Chassidut 297.
