Lengthy Halachic Responsum by Rabbi Shmuel HaLevi Wosner – Author of Shevet HaLevi - Lengthy and Insightful Halachic Responsum on the Laws of the Etrog, addressed to Rabbi Chaim Shraga Feivel Schneebalg, author of Torat Daled Minim. Bnei Brak, 5751 [1991]. [1] sheet of official stationery, written on both sides. Entirely in the holy handwriting and bearing the signature of Rabbi Shmuel HaLevi Wosner. Very good condition. A comprehensive halachic discussion regarding the laws of the etrog, its kashrut, and related practical details, sent to Rabbi Schneebalg in response to his inquiries in preparation for his sefer Torat Daled Minim. The responsum was later published in Shu”t Shevet HaLevi, vol. 8, siman 150. Rabbi Shmuel HaLevi Wosner (1913–2015) – born in Vienna, foremost disciple of Rabbi Meir Shapiro in Yeshivat Chachmei Lublin. He immigrated to Eretz Yisrael in 1939, where he quickly became recognized as one of the leading Torah scholars of his generation. In 1947, at the initiative of the Chazon Ish, he was appointed Rabbi and Av Beit Din of the Zichron Meir neighborhood in Bnei Brak, a position he held for the rest of his life. He also served as Rosh Yeshivat Chachmei Lublin in Bnei Brak. Rabbi Wosner was considered one of the foremost halachic authorities of the postwar generation, revered across all circles of Torah Jewry, earning the title “Posek HaDor.” Thousands of disciples and petitioners gathered around him, regarding him as both a towering scholar and a man of wonders whose blessings and counsel brought salvation. Author of the monumental series Shu”t Shevet HaLevi and other important works.
