At the center of the plate appears a repoussé depiction of two braided challah loaves, symbolizing abundance, holiness, and the double portion of manna gathered in the wilderness. On each side is engraved a Star of David, and along the border are finely chased Hebrew inscriptions: “And on the sixth day they gathered double bread” and “Remember the Sabbath day to keep it holy”, separated by delicate rose motifs. The rim is gently scalloped, in the graceful, balanced style typical of late 19th-century German craftsmanship — soft curves, symmetrical floral patterns, and meticulous attention to detail that lend the plate a sense of harmony and dignity.
