A unique and engaging work that received a remarkably large number of approbations, from the rabbis of Amsterdam, the author of Korban Netanel, and others. Includes a separate title page for Gan Eden ha-Ma’amin—an exposition of Maimonides’ Thirteen Principles of Faith. On the verso of the main title page appears an engraved architectural illustration with columns, symbolizing the title Amudei Beit Yehuda, together with the handwritten signatures of the author and the printer. The author, Rabbi Yehuda HaLevi Horowitz (1694–1798), was a rabbi and physician in Vilna and Grodno. He studied medicine in Padua and was proficient in several languages; alongside this, he served as a dayan in Vilna. He authored numerous works, some of which received approbations even from leading figures of the Haskalah.
