First edition - An important and rare kabbalistic work, Refaduni ba-Tapuḥim, presenting an original commentary in the mode of derash and Kabbalah on the Aggadot of Rabbah bar bar Ḥana in the chapter Ha-Mokher et ha-Sefinah, as well as on additional Aggadic passages of the Sages. Authored by Rabbi Elikum Goetz, of blessed memory, Av Beit Din of the holy community of Hildesum, among the notable Ashkenazic scholars active in the early 19th century. The book combines profound aggadic analysis with symbolic kabbalistic interpretation, illuminating the words of the Sages through a mystical and conceptual lens characteristic of the kabbalistic learning that developed in Europe during this period. Printed in Berlin in the year 5482 [1722], this is the first edition of the work. The book bears approbations by leading sages of the generation, including Rabbi David Oppenheim and Rabbi Naftali ha-Kohen Katz, among others—testimony to its significance and the esteem it enjoyed among contemporaries. 30 leaves.
