“Sha‘arei Teshuvah” by Rabbeinu Ya‘akov Abuhatzeira — with a dedication by his holy grandsons, Baba Sali and Baba Ḥaki - “Sha‘arei Teshuvah, ” together with “Levona Zakkah” and “Ma‘aseh Nissim.” Jerusalem, 5717 [1957]. The book Sha‘arei Teshuvah, with the accompanying works Levona Zakkah and Ma‘aseh Nissim, attributed to “the great eagle, the venerable master of judgment, the divine kabbalist, learned in miracles, a Sinai and uprooter of mountains, the holy Admor, our crown and glory, Rabbi Ya‘akov Abuhatzeira (‘Avir Ya‘akov’).” This edition was printed and published by the author’s great-great-grandsons: one of the greatest kabbalists of recent generations, Rabbi Israel Abuhatzeira (“Baba Sali”), and his brother, the Chief Rabbi of Ramla, the holy gaon Rabbi Yitzḥak Abuhatzeira (“Baba Ḥaki”). On the verso of the title page appears a handwritten dedication by the holy brothers Baba Sali and Baba Ḥaki, addressed to: “The great gaon, a mighty pillar and tower, our teacher Rabbi Meir, son of the righteous Rabbi Ya‘akov Malul, may he live long.” The dedication is written in the holy handwriting of Baba Ḥaki, with his handwritten signature appearing alongside it. Beneath the dedication are printed the names of the holy brothers and their details: “The holy gaon Rabbi Israel Abuhatzeira, may he live long, Bak‘a, Shim‘on Street no. 11, Jerusalem. The gaon Rabbi Yitzḥak Abuhatzeira, may he live long, Chief Rabbi of the Ramla–Lod district, Herzl Boulevard no. 25, Ramla.” At the end of the volume appears the section Ma‘aseh Nissim, containing accounts of wondrous deeds performed by the author, the saintly miracle-worker known as Avir Ya‘akov. According to the teachings of the Baal Shem Tov and the great Hasidic masters, stories of miracles wrought by the righteous possess the power to awaken salvation—how much more so when read from this sacred printing, signed and presented by the holy descendants themselves to one of the righteous figures of Morocco. 176 pages. 22 cm.
