Concordance by Johann Buxtorf. Basel, 1632. Original vellum binding - A concordance to the Bible — Concordantiae Bibliorum Hebraicae, by Johann Buxtorf (Johannis Buxtorfi). Basel, [5392] 1632. At the beginning of the book is a Latin introduction by Johann Buxtorf the Younger, who completed the concordance. In the introduction, he mentions the concordance Me’ir Nativ by Rabbi Isaac Nathan, which served as his model. At the end of the volume is a table of the weekly Torah portions, followed by a colophon stating: “Printed in Basilea by command of the illustrious lord Ludwig König and in his house, in the year ‘which He completed for the children of Israel’” [390 = 1630]. However, the book was printed in 1632, and it is possible that the printing was delayed. A large and impressive volume. Height: 41 cm. Condition: Very good. Brown paper. Wide margins. Fine original vellum binding.
