First edition of one of the most foundational and important responsa works, authored by one of the greatest of the Rishonim, שלמה בן אדרת. This work is considered one of the cornerstones of Jewish halachic literature and is cited innumerable times in the Beit Yosef and by virtually all major halachic authorities throughout the generations. The volume contains 1,255 responsa — a significantly larger number than most other responsa works printed in this early period of Hebrew printing. A complete copy, with [16] leaves, including the special title section: “Simanei She’elot u-Teshuvot” (Index of the Responsa), which in the present copy is bound at the beginning of the book. Ownership signatures on the title page: “The humble Yitzchak son of the late Rabbi Mordechai Chazak, ” and “Yaakov Katz of Frankfurt.” Beyond the title page are handwritten Italian records of birth dates from the years 1660–1670. The index leaves at the beginning are bound out of order, though all are present. Simple, worn binding, partially detached.
