Cheshvan 5735 / 1974) was known as one of the most mysterious and revered kabbalists of his generation—a wonder-worker, spiritual guide, and renowned expert in matters relating to souls and reincarnation. His name became associated with numerous accounts describing extraordinary spiritual perceptions and knowledge of hidden worlds, and he was regarded as a unique figure within twentieth-century kabbalistic circles. Alongside his involvement in mystical pursuits, Rabbi Patilon earned his livelihood through painting. His works, characterized by sensitivity and vivid portrayals of everyday figures, earned him the public epithet “the Holy Painter.” Rabbi Patilon was part of a small and secretive circle of hidden kabbalists who studied together discreetly.
