'Birkat HaBayit' by Minister Deri to Kabbalist Rabbi Pinchas Abuchatzeira. Made in the Ma'assiyahu Prison - Birkat HaBayit - blessing for a marriage, made by Minister Aryeh Deri when he was in the Ma'assiyahu prison, sent for the wedding of Rabbi Pinchas Abuhatzeira, eldest son and eventual successor of the Admo”r Rabbi Elazar Abuchatzeira - the 'Baba Elazar' of Be'er Sheva. When this important wedding was held, Aryeh Deri was imprisoned in the Ma'assiyahu prison and could not attend the wedding. On the other hand, he had a lot of spare time, which is indicated by the intricate calligraphy and flower decorations around the greeting. Aryeh Deri signed using his name and that of his mother: Aryeh Machluf ben Esther, and added his official signature, the date: Rosh Chodesh Kislev 5761 [2001] and the place: Ma'assiyahu [prison], Ramlah.  Aryeh Deri [b. 1959] chairman of the Shas party, minister of the Interior, minister of the development of the periphery, the Negev and the Galilee, and a member of Israel's Security Cabinet. Aryeh Deri was appointed minister of the Interior at age 29 and was then the youngest minister in the history of the State of Israel. In 1999, he was convicted of taking bribes, fraud and breach of trust and was sentenced to three years imprisonment, of which he served two years in practice, 2000-2002 (during which he prepared this gift). Deri responded to the accusations in the tape ”J'Accuse,” in which he accused the legal system of ethnic persecution. Rabbi Ovadiah Yosef also declared that Deri ”is innocent.” The civil unrest against the verdict appeared during the campaign for the 15th Knesset and the Shas party headed by Deri succeeded in gaining an unprecedented 17 seats. Nevertheless, and despite the electoral achievement, Rabbi Ovadiah Yosef removed Aryeh Deri from heading the Shas party, appointing Eli Yishai as the chairman of Shas instead. After his return to politics (Deri is the only minister who was convicted and spent time in prison, yet returned to serve as a government minister after his release), he rebranded himself as ”Aryeh Machluf Deri.” In the gift before us we can already see his use of the name 'Machluf.' Rabbi Pinchas Abuchatzeira [b. 1977], is a prince of the glorious Abuchatzeira family. He is a son of the 'Baba Elazar', grandson of the 'Baba Meir' and great grandson of the 'Baba Sali.' He was educated at the Tifrach yeshivah, where he studied, inter alia, with the moshav rabbi, Rabbi Eliyahu Eliezer Yakobson, whom he considers his rabbi. He rarely left the yeshivah, and according to his friends, when he needed something, assistants came to the yeshivah to help him. After the murder of his father, kabbalist Rabbi Elazar Abuchatzeira, he was appointed his successor and declared his heir. During the funeral, Rabbi Ovadiah Yosef stated that ”he left a righteous son who will increase his father's Torah.” Unlike his father, who wore a traditional Moroccan robe and covered his eyes in public, Rabbi Pinchas wears a short suit and a simple brimmed hat commonly worn by yeshivah students. He also gives public lessons, something his father had avoided. His method of study is Lithuanian-oriented. Rabbi Abuchatzeira inherited his father's institutions, whose worth, according to the De Marker, was estimated in 2011 to be between eighty to a hundred million dollars. According to other estimates, his fortune is worth more than a billion NIS.  28x43 cm. Assyrian script, ink on scored parchment. Placed in a beautiful frame.
