A Blessing from the Rebbe – A Sanctified Dollar - A United States one-dollar bill granted from the holy hand of the Lubavitcher Rebbe, Rabbi Menachem Mendel Schneerson, during the traditional Sunday dollar distribution—an extraordinary occasion in which the Rebbe would give out dollar bills for charity, as a conduit for blessing and abundance. The present bill was received directly from the Rebbe by a devoted Chabad chassid, who merited to draw close to holiness over the course of many decades. This chassid would travel regularly, year after year, to receive the Rebbe’s blessing, and at times would visit together with members of his family, who likewise received from the Rebbe dollar bills, coins, pamphlets, and copies of the Tanya. In this chassid’s estate, an original photograph was also found, depicting him in the presence of the Rebbe at the moment of receiving a blessing—an authentic and moving testimony to the personal connection and the elevated occasion. This bill is part of a rare group of thirteen Chabad-related items, all originating from the personal collection of this same chassid. A certificate of authenticity and full background details will be provided to the purchaser. 1 United States $1 bill, dated 1988. Serial number: K25380384C. Excellent condition. The Rebbe once explained the special virtue of such a bill, emphasizing its power to draw material blessing. Just as a small amount of liquid from a cup of blessing, when mixed even into a full barrel, imparts its special quality to the entire contents, so too when money from a tzaddik—even a single coin—is incorporated into a person’s assets, all of his possessions become imbued with the unique blessing of “the money of the righteous, ” and are thereby blessed. The Rebbe concluded that this is the meaning of the statement of the Sages (Bava Batra 15b): “Whoever takes even a small coin from Job is blessed”—for even the smallest amount received from a righteous individual has the power to bring blessing upon one’s entire wealth.
