Likkutei Amarim Tanya Distributed by the Rebbe via Kollel Scholars, with an Accompanying Dollar – “Millennium Edition, ” 1984. Rare - Likkutei Amarim Tanya, the special “Millennium Edition.” Published by Kehot – Otzar HaChassidim, 770 Eastern Parkway, Brooklyn, New York, 11 Nissan 5744 [1984]. Accompanied by the dollar bill given on this occasion. The present volume and dollar were received from the Rebbe by a devoted Chabad chassid, who merited to draw close to holiness over the course of many decades. This chassid would travel regularly, year after year, to receive the Rebbe’s blessing, and at times would arrive together with members of his family, who likewise merited to receive from his hand dollar bills, coins, pamphlets, and copies of the Tanya. In this chassid’s estate, an original photograph was also found, depicting him in the presence of the Rebbe at the moment of receiving a blessing—an authentic and moving testimony to the personal connection and the elevated occasion. This magnificent edition includes an extensive bibliographic section of Tanya printings, comprising no fewer than 600 (!) pages of reproduced title pages from all known editions of the Tanya, along with bibliographic listings and facsimiles of rare manuscripts of the work. In anticipation of the auspicious day of 11 Nissan 5744, the Rebbe instructed that a special “Millennium Edition” of the Tanya be published, incorporating photographic reproductions of the title pages of all editions printed to date. At the conclusion of the farbrengen of 11 Nissan, the Rebbe distributed this edition of the Tanya to each and every participant, through the scholars of the kollel.
