Printed in Munkács in 1893. Rabbi Yoel Ashkenazi was among the prominent rabbinic leaders of Galicia. He was the son of Rabbi Moshe David Ashkenazi, Rabbi of Tállya and later Chief Rabbi of Safed, who was the father-in-law of the renowned Rabbi Yekusiel Yehuda Teitelbaum, author of Yitav Lev. The work was published with an approbation from the Yitav Lev. An especially significant association copy. The title page bears the stamp of the celebrated halachic authority Rabbi Chaim Hezekiah Medini, and the first leaf contains his autograph signature. Rabbi Chaim Hezekiah Medini (1833–1905), author of the monumental Sdei Chemed, served as Rabbi of Karasubazar (present-day Bilohirsk, Crimea) and later as Chief Rabbi of Hebron. One of the foremost halachic authorities of the modern era, he was renowned for his extraordinary scholarship and encyclopedic mastery of rabbinic literature. His magnum opus, Sdei Chemed, became a cornerstone of halachic study and is widely regarded as one of the most comprehensive halachic encyclopedias ever compiled. This copy offers a direct connection to one of the greatest rabbinic authorities of the nineteenth century, bearing both his personal stamp and autograph signature. [4], 100 leaves. 32 cm.
