Collection of Documents, Letters, and Receipts from Sephardic Institutions in Tiberias and the Land of Israel. Late 19th–Mid 20th Century - A diverse and historically interesting group of approximately twenty documents, letters, and receipts relating to Sephardic communal institutions, charitable organizations, and prominent rabbinic figures, primarily associated with the city of Tiberias. Among the items included: A receipt issued by the charity fund of Rabbi Meir Baal HaNess. An autograph letter signed by Rabbi Yaakov Hazarian, Chief Rabbi of the Sephardic Community of Tiberias. An additional letter and several receipts bearing his signature. An official letter from the General Talmud Torah and Orphans’ Educational Institution of the Sephardic and Maghrebi Communities of Tiberias, signed by Rabbi Raphael Bibas, chairman of the institution’s committee. Letters issued by the Sephardic community of Tiberias. Various emissary (Shadar) letters. A lengthy land document relating to the Kingomani property, bearing the signature of Rabbi Shlomo Sassoon. Receipts issued by the Zohar HaRakia Yeshivah. A letter from the Beth Israel Community of the Bronx, New York. Several charitable distribution (Halukah) receipts from the Demir Kolel, including documents bearing the signatures of Rabbi Shlomo Yelluz and Rabbi Yaakov Hazarian. Additional documents of historical and communal significance. The collection reflects the activities of charitable, educational, and communal institutions serving the Sephardic population of the Land of Israel, as well as their connections with Jewish communities abroad. Beyond their documentary value, many of the items bear original signatures of notable rabbis, communal leaders, and public figures active in Tiberias and the wider Sephardic world.
