Morocco, 19th Century - A rare and impressive silver amulet from the rich amuletic tradition of Moroccan Jewry, engraved by hand on a silver plaque. The amulet bears a personalized prayer and blessing for Hannah bat Solika, invoking divine healing, protection, and safeguarding from sorcery, evil influences, informers, the evil eye, and all forms of harm. It further includes a supplication that her betrothal and marriage should not be delayed, reflecting its use as a protective talisman intended to bring blessing, good fortune, and success in life. The text is engraved on both sides of a silver plaque of characteristic form: a rectangular tablet with a rounded upper section shaped as a half-arch.
