Three-Dimensional Silver Protective Amulet. Morocco, 19th Century - An impressive and unusual silver amulet from the Jewish tradition of Morocco, crafted in fine silverwork and formed as a fully enclosed three-dimensional object. The amulet is designed as a rectangular structure with a pointed roof, resembling a miniature house or amulet shrine. It is decorated with Kabbalistic and protective motifs. One side is engraved with sacred names and letter combinations, including the names “Periha, ” “Moshe, ” and “Shaddai, ” alongside symbols and inscriptions intended to provide protection and spiritual safeguarding. Rings for suspension are affixed to both sides of the amulet, apparently intended to allow it to be hung in the home as a spiritual safeguard for the members of the household. Attached to its lower section are three figure-eight-shaped loops, from which hamsa pendants decorated with kabbalistic motifs were originally suspended. One pendant is now missing, while two remain in place. Amulets of this type were used for protection against the evil eye, harmful influences, and various misfortunes, reflecting the rich tradition of folk Kabbalah and protective practices among the Jews of Morocco. Size: 10 × 4 × 1 cm. The amulet is sealed and does not open. Condition: Good. One of the three original hanging plaques is missing.
