The ”Sacred Tree” (Ilan HaKadosh) Amulet on Parchment, Preserved in Its Original Silver Case – Provenance: The Pinto Family. 19th Century - The ”Sacred Tree” Amulet – Kabbalistic Amulet on Parchment, Housed in Its Original Silver Case. From the Pinto Family of Morocco. A rare ”Sacred Tree” (Ilan HaKadosh) amulet, written in ink on parchment and preserved within its original silver case, engraved ”Ilan HaKadosh”, with its original suspension rings and chain. At the conclusion of the amulet appears the following inscription: ”This Sacred Tree is a segulah for every purpose: to find favor, for success, against the evil eye, for women experiencing difficult childbirth, against harmful spirits and demons, against plague, and against every evil in the world. May Hashem protect us...” The amulet is richly illustrated with Kabbalistic diagrams, the Order of the Sefiros, the chain of the spiritual worlds, names of angels and, where relevant, demons, together forming a comprehensive visual representation of the principal concepts of Lurianic Kabbalah, according to the teachings of the eminent kabbalist Rabbi Meir Poppers, one of the foremost disciples of the Arizal. Although the identity of the kabbalist who prepared this impressive amulet is unknown, its provenance is well established: it originated from the distinguished Pinto family of Morocco, one of the most celebrated dynasties of holy kabbalists. Parchment: 114 × 7 cm. Condition: The parchment is in good condition, with ink stains and a few erasures. The original silver case is in very good condition, retaining its original lid.
